In 2012, I was in Las Vegas leading some women to do outreach at a strip club. Nine years later, in 2021, I was in Reno and met a woman who had been volunteering at our ministry there. She told me that she had been trafficked earlier in her life and ended up working in a Vegas strip club. Then one day some women came into her club, and they were gracious. They gave her a free lip gloss. When she got home, she saw that it said “Scarlet Hope” on the tube and had a phone number on it. She did a Google search for “Scarlet Hope,” came across a video I had made, and then our website. She eventually decided to move to the closest Scarlet Hope location in Reno, where she met our director there, got involved in a partner church, got married, and is now helping people find freedom from addiction.

It’s amazing! The woman thanked me, saying that she credits her story to our walking into the club that night in Vegas. I can’t take credit for God’s work, but I love getting to be a part of the story. I feel close to him when I get a front-row seat to his work.

If you let your doubts drown out your faith, you could miss out on impacting thousands of lives. But you can play an essential part in a God story if you exercise the sort of faith that takes risks and overcomes fear.
