Apple pie is traditionally served during cookouts or after Thanksgiving dinner. I live by a few rules and one of them is that apple pie is perfect for just about any occasion. Instead of spending the time to prepare a piecrust and waiting for the pie to bake and cool, serve these quick and easy mini–apple tarts at your next get-together. My recipe uses a simple stove-top pie filling and a graham cracker crust. My favorite way to prepare apple pie is with maple syrup, lots of brown sugar and a bit of cinnamon. This recipe uses brown butter for both the crust and the apple filling. You can serve this dessert warm or cold. I love a good slice of cold apple pie myself. Make sure you get enough of the cinnamon maple whipped cream. It is the perfect way to top off this tart.
