“He’s a big boy too.” Stride grinned.

Zero punched him. “Okay. I think I should warn you, Aka wants to be a rock star.”

Stride glanced over his shoulder as he waited for Zero to hop on behind him. “A rock star?”

“Um, yeah.” Zero nodded with a smile. “What are we going to do with that boy?”

“Form a band?”

Zero was laughing as the bike took off, and went hurtling towards the sky. He was shaking when they landed above, on the mountaintop. “Holy crap, Batman!”

Stride got off the bike. “Who?”

Zero rolled his eyes. “I give up. So, where are we going to live?”

“In the city, of course. If my son is going to be a musician, he’ll need to take lessons.”

“Or give them. You said he was made to do anything he wanted.”

“True, but some things he still has to work at.”

“Good. I wouldn’t want him to be too perfect. Then he might despise me.”

“We’ve missed that part of his teenage years—the mandatory parent-hating stage—

thanks to his accelerated growth.” Stride looked so pleased with himself.

“You managed to bypass a lot of things. His voice broke in about three minutes.”

“I know, babe. I missed a lot of things… Ironic, really, since I’ve only been gone a few hours.”

“He’s fully grown. Can you believe it?” Zero longed just to fuck his man in some place beautiful.

Stride nodded. “I’m sorry my love, but our earth-shattering sexual workout is going to have to wait a bit longer. I have a”—he held up a finger—“a matter to take care of.”

“I get it. Your brother. Where do we start looking?”

“Oh, I think I know where he is. We just need to find him.”

“Okay, then we need a place to live, hot stuff. That living in a tent thing isn’t going to cut it.”

“No?” Stride teased. “Go into the city”—he indicated the bike—“and find us a house.

Something nice with at least three bedrooms—one for our son, and one for Dad.”

“Can we actually afford a house? And I loved the ‘our son’ part.”
