5.4 The Holocaust and Final Solution

Around the hour of the bombed hostile against Moscow in December 1941, Hitler settled that the Jews of Europe were to be annihilated immediately. While the homicide of Jewish regular citizens had been progressing in the involved domains of Poland and the Soviet Union, plans for the complete destruction of the Jewish populace of Europe—eleven million individuals—were formalized at the Wannsee Conference on 20 January 1942. Some would be worked to death and the rest would be executed in the execution of the Final Solution to the Jewish Question. Initially the casualties were slaughtered by Einsatzgruppen terminating crews, at that point by fixed gas chambers or by gas vans, however these techniques demonstrated unfeasible for an operation of this scale.
