Nadia

With the three distinct water streams approaching fast, Nadia’s quivering hands held on to the golden estoc. Though her exhaustion was palpable, she managed an unwavering gaze to show her preparedness for what lay ahead. Allaying her feelings of hopelessness, she knew she had no time to grieve.

A sudden shock wave shook the ocean, almost causing her to stumble as the three warriors materialized before her. The figure at the center was shrouded in a cloak so dark it seemed to absorb the surrounding light. The man’s beard was a deep shade of gray, reminiscent of a dark storm cloud, swaying with each passing current. He exuded an enigmatic aura, standing tall with his green eyes glowing in the dim light illuminating the ocean floor.

To the right was a beautiful woman wrapped in a strange, luminous, golden armor. Her short brown hair fell in wisps around her face, adding to her distinctive features. Unlike her companion, her hands were occupied with a colossal, polished sword that gleamed in the light. Her persona was that of a medieval knight, but with armor which seemed thin, flexible, and light, yet incredibly strong.

A tall and slender figure in a robe stood to the left of the man. There was something unsettling about the man’s eyes, which seemed to emit an eerie glow that illuminated his surroundings.

Overwhelmed at the thought of facing her strong opponents, Nadia’s grip tightened around her only weapon. With only moments left before the confrontation, she scanned the area for any sign of hope or even a miracle but couldn’t see any.

“Surface dweller with the mark. Greetings,” said the central figure, his words filled with contempt, as if attempting to make her feel small and vulnerable. “I am known as the Dark Prince. I command time and space and show my foes no mercy.”

“And I am Silona, the destroyer of species. I have visited the surface many times in your recorded history,” said the woman.

“I am Yaaz, the controller of the oceans and the destroyer of ships.”

For some inexplicable reason, she felt a sudden surge of confidence and energy. “This is so cool. You know you three look like a bunch of mutant comic book characters with made-up names and powers, who just want to mess with me so you can get your ass kicked and I can save the day, right?” asked Nadia.

The trio exchanged furious glances with their facial expressions, revealing their anger.

“How dare you speak to us like that?” said Yaaz.

“Well, I can speak to you in the manner that I want. You haven’t even seen me speak much. I can speak even more things about you. And if you were intelligent, you wouldn’t dare stand in front of me like that. If you knew what’s best for you, y’all would curtsy down in front of my royal existence. Remember, it’s me you are talking to, Nadia, the destroyer of worlds, the girl with the looks of an angel and an anger of a hippopotamus—another surface creature you don’t wanna face when it’s in a bad mood.
