He had caught up with the man carrying the letter and followed him until he reached a house on the edge of the woods. Metz had never seen the house before. This intrigued him because he thought the other letters might have been delivered to Nrothgare, but he was unsure, which was precisely why he decided to follow the letter. He watched as the man delivered the letter and noticed a young woman with a bow aimed at the man at the door. Someone else was standing directly behind her, but he could not see who it was, although it appeared to be another young woman.

When Metz heard the loud screech, he watched as the man hurriedly tried to leave. In mere seconds, the man was cut down by the mist. Ater witnessing the gruesome kill, Metz moved behind a tree, hoping the mist did not see him. He was not prone to fear, but whatever had just killed the messenger scared Metz.

Once the mist disappeared, Metz wondered if he should knock on the door to find out who was in that house. However, given that the women in the house seemed apprehensive toward strangers, he decided against it. He was not worried they would hurt him, but he did not want to scare them further than they already were. So, he decided he would return later.

Metz walked over to Kragoon, hitched to a nearby tree, and mounted his horse. He could return to the house in the morning. He had a more important task at hand. He decided to go to the temple to search the scrolls to learn more about this mist. He knew he did not have much time to read the scrolls, but he felt that it was imperative to research them for information about this mist. He figured the scrolls detailing the gods defeated in the Great War would be the best place to start.
