I wrapped my legs around Zander’s waist and squeezed. “This will happen after dinner.” He had not moved an inch, and I could still feel him inside me. “I really don’t want to get up.”
“Then let’s just stay here for a little longer.” He winked and brushed his thumb back and forth over my cheek. “I will be hard again very soon”—my stomach growled for the second time—“but you may wither away if we don’t get some food in that gorgeous belly.” Reluctantly, he pulled back, breaking that connection, and kissed my belly. “I want dessert first, though.”
“We are adults.” I smiled and sat up. “Dessert should be first.” I hopped off the bed and wrapped my arms around his waist. “This was so much better than going out.”
He circled his arms around me. “Who knew we had that much pent-up need for each other.”
“Ten months is a long time.” I brushed my lips back and forth against his chest.
“Wait.” He bent back slightly. “The whole ten months?”
“Maybe.” I laughed and stepped out of his hold. He didn’t let me go far, though. Just as I was about to reach down and grab my robe, he wrapped his arms around me to stop my movement. The action caused me to laugh. “What? Are you trying to tell me you don’t agree?”
He moved our bodies back and forth playfully. “Not even a little.” My back was flush against his chest. He rested his head on my shoulder and whispered into my ear. “I just wish we didn’t wait so long to share our true feelings.”
I turned to face him. “We weren’t ready then. We are now.”
“I will have to start working out.”
“Why?” I was confused. The man was perfect.
“If we’re going to be together more, then I can only imagine my consumption of sweet treats will increase.”
“I’ll make sugar-free versions for you.”
“What’s the point?”
I placed my palm on the side of his face. “True. That is silly.” I slid my hands up and combed my fingers in his hair. “We’ll work out together.”
“I have a funny feeling your version of working out and my version are very different.” He grabbed the robe still in my grasp and placed it over my shoulders.
“Mine is more fun.” I reached for the tie but he stopped my hands.
“Leave it open.” Then he bent down to grab his boxers. “I think by the end of the day I’ll like your version so much more.” He fisted his hands into the fabric of my robe and pulled me toward the door. “Let’s fuel up and then test out another workout session.
He smiled, and I knew this was where we were supposed to be. For too long we denied our feelings. I didn’t plan to ever deny what I wanted when it came to Zander ever again.
