I LET THE HOT WATER run in his shower, and I watched the dirt, mud, and gravel wash down the drain until only my legs remained, creamy and clean.

“Thank you,” he said.

I heard that agony, the tight control, in his voice again, and I turned to look at him. He was so close that I caught my breath, those blue-black eyes trapping me, and the muscle in his jaw like a twist in my gut.

He put a hand on the back of my neck and kissed me.

“This is wrong, Torin,” I protested, as he put a rough hand on my breast, watching with dark eyes as my nipple hardened under his fingers.

“I used to get the shit beat out of me by my father every day,” he said. “I’ve been to jail more times than I can count. How can this be what’s wrong? How can the only thing that I’ve ever had that’s soft and warm be wrong?”

“It is, Torin!” I said. “You’re my brother.”

He just wrapped his arm around my waist and drew me closer to him, his head bending down to kiss my neck, and I felt a shiver with each touch of his lips.

He raised his head to look at me and I flinched away as he put that rough finger on my cheek.

I saw his face darken with anger, and he grabbed my wrist, yanking my wet body even closer to his so I felt him hard against my belly.

“I know you feel it too,” he said, his big body looming over mine, trapping me.
