I HADN’T MEANT ANYTHING by teasing Prue about the cooking. Hell, I already knew she didn’t need a kitchen to heat things up with me.

I drew her into the ring of my arms, well fucking aware all the gawkers were staring. When I sealed my mouth over hers, she gasped. Her hands roamed to my shoulders then she parted her lips to the lick of my tongue. She tasted so sweet, and her submission to me was even sweeter.

When I released her, her eyes fluttered open. The soft daze in her green irises quickly shifted to a frosty glare.

“That was not fair,” she said before stalking away while everyone else gaped.

The woman was so damn complicated. Her stubborn streak turned me on though.

After learning about all the crap she’d endured with Derry, she blew me away with how she’d managed to hold it together for so long. Talking to her, hell telling her shit I’d kept bottled up for years, made me more resolved than ever to keep her.

It didn’t hurt that she’d made me come so hard last night, and I hadn’t even fucked her yet. Yeah, my admiration for her was heavily tempered by an animal urge to possess her.

With Lucia’s help, Baba laid out a complete feast. There were still some Russian items I didn’t recognize, but it didn’t matter because her cooking ranked. Prue managed to avoid me while eating. Yep, she was still all prickly over either the food comment or my surprise kiss, but whatever. I was used to her snappy attitude.

She could ignore me all she wanted. I’d get to her later.

After all the plates and leftovers were cleared away, Sasha stood up and clapped her hands together. “Let’s go shoot some guns.”

Prue looked immediately alarmed, and her eyes flew to me. “Why would we do that?”

I shrugged. “Might be a good idea.”

“I’ll say.” Jo got in on the action. “Especially if you’re going to be hanging around these guys.”

Derry looked completely sold on the idea. “Do you have a shooting range here?”

When Sasha nodded, she said, “Legendary. Can we, Prue?”

Prue’s pretty face puckered up over the prospect. Knowing better than to get between her and her sister, I kept my mouth shut.

Until she appealed to me of all the damn things. “What do you think?”

I straightened right up. She hadn’t ever asked for my opinion before.

“It’s not gonna hurt. Besides, at least here you’re perfectly safe to give it a go.”

“Excellent,” Sasha said. “It’s good to know just in case. Self-defense and all that.”

With Prue’s assent, we all trooped out to the firing range at the back of the loading bay, minus the babies of course. I slung an arm around Prue’s shoulder. She shrugged me away. I chuckled.

Maksim and Kirill demonstrated first, showing off as usual. Then Jo and Sasha had a turn while Lucia declined. Dex and Kelly blew holes into their targets with perfect accuracy.

As everyone else took their shots, I made sure to stand close to Prue, mostly because my proximity unnerved her.
