Chapter Seven

Alexander hadn’t stayed up until too late the night before, but his sleep had been restless. Partly it was because he was sleeping on Logan's couch and there was no way that was going to make for a good night.

It was a good, comfortable couch, but he missed his bed…the one in the pool house, he thought bitterly as he rubbed his eyes and stood up to go to the kitchen and make himself some coffee. He opened the cupboards with practice. He knew exactly where Logan kept everything; he had been there so many times it really did feel like home. Maybe he would consider living at Logan’s place, though that would be admitting defeat and Alexander was a prideful man. He didn’t want to admit defeat and math hadn’t defeated him yet.

As he prepped the coffee, he started to think about the night before. He had to come back to Logan's apartment before Logan himself, mostly because he couldn't stand being around Josh anymore. Josh was nice, he was sweet, and he kept the conversation going. After they had gone out on their walk, they had both come back smiling like idiots. Kayleigh, Josh's friend, had called them out almost immediately, but she had shut up the moment Josh glared at her.

He was probably mixing alcohol with something else, but because they were with other people and didn’t seem to get a moment to themselves, he hadn’t had the chance to ask him that the night before.

He would have to ask him later on, when he saw him today. His phone beeped, and Alexander looked at it. His calendar reminded him that he had a math session in an hour. He took a deep breath as his heart started to beat more and more quickly. He had never been so excited about a math lesson in his entire life. He couldn’t help but smile as he thought back to the walk and to the way that Josh’s jacket smelled. The way his lips were perfectly firm and soft at the same time, the way he smiled. God, he was so fucking gorgeous. Alexander could just stand there in the kitchen and think about him all day long.

He had completely forgotten about setting a lesson for Sunday, but it made sense. He was sure that he had some clothes here, but if he didn’t, he could always borrow some of Logan’s. He wanted to look good. He knew it was a tutoring session, not a date, but still. It was a build-up to a date, and he wanted to make sure that he looked good every step of the way. It was probably silly and
