Getting Out of a One-Hand Chokehold While Against a Wall

An opponent will use one hand to grab and hold you by the throat while pushing you against the wall behind you.

This attack is done to make you comply with the opponent's will. If you can pretend as if you are complying and are non-resistant can give you an advantage of getting in the first blow. You have to get free of this position fast, so your opponent doesn't have time to use the other hand to choke harder or grab a weapon.

How to do this maneuver: Tuck your chin into your chest. Put pressure on your opponent’s thumb to weaken the hold. Bring your hands up and grab your opponent’s wrist. Use your nondominant hand and grab their wrist close to the thumb and pluck it from your throat and drive it toward the ground. At the same time bring up your dominant hand to hit your opponent’s nose, throat, or jaw. Now rotate your hips into the blow to add momentum and force to the hit to make it more powerful. Knee your opponent in the groin and hit the soft spots.
