“Holy shit! What the fuck happened?” Ypsilon shouted as she crawled over to Van’s side and examined the wound.

“Took a round to the knee as we were running over here. I’m good. Just a nick,” Van assured, a weak smile spreading across her face. She’d lost a lot of blood, but she was a fighter.

“You good?” Ypsilon asked Soisha, knowing this was going to be harder on her best friend than it was on Van.

She nodded silently, her eyes never leaving her girlfriend.

“How was it?” Adal asked Arija, checking her over for any injuries.

“We handled them. Dirty fighters, but they felt the pain,” Arija answered, wiping some blood from her lip. “What are we going to do now? They have us pinned under vehicle fire.”

Ypsilon looked over the wall to examine their options. It was chaos. The Tekaha and Ukufa were hard at work fighting the Stronzi, but many were losing their lives.

Men and women of every group charged, ran, and fought as blood pooled on the metallic ground.

They had to get out of there. The surge to jump back in and help her family filed Ypsilon, but if she left, the visitors, Van and Soisha wouldn’t survive.

Van was out of commission, and even though she was a powerful fighter and would lay her life down for Soisha, she couldn’t survive this many Stronzi assholes without the use of both legs. Adal and Arija were decent fighters, but they couldn’t handle this alone either.

“Boys, Mama needs an exit. Can you do that for me?” Ypsilon asked, coming up behind Rom and Rae.

They grinned fiendishly, nodding and bumping fists.

With a grunt, the brothers grabbed the heavy table and pushed it forward into the gunfire. Rounds exploded in every which way as they hit and ricocheted off the metal.

“What are they doing? Are they trying to get themselves killed?” Arija shouted as the Wolf brothers neared the belly of one of the hovering patrol vehicles.

“This is just what they do,” Ypsilon replied.

The brothers tossed the table at the vehicle while simultaneously using their boots to boost into the air behind it.

The metal table crashed into the windshield of the vehicle, and the brother’s landed effortlessly on its roof. With a fluid motion, they pried the doors open and yanked the occupants free, sending the craft spiraling out of control over the edge of the platform.

“We have a saying around here. Never take a dog to a Wolf fight,” Ypsilon laughed in a victory that was short lived.

Two other vehicles took the patrol car’s place and began shooting at everything.

“Yeah? Well, we have a saying too: never take Kip anywhere.” Ypsilon’s smile faded as Adal turned to Kip and nodded. “You ready to have some fun?”

Kip looked at his hands, and then back at Van. The bleeding had finally stopped. There was nothing more he could do.

He nodded, and without pause, jumped over the barrier. The crafts continued to fire at the group of turned over tables as Kip slid his hands into his pockets and pulled out several Knockers.
