Chapter 3

He landed on the edge of the giant wall surrounding the back of the castle, transforming. Alex stood there, his face engraved with concern.

"Are you okay?" Alex whispered. Guilt crossed his face.

"You told him?" Leon asked, anger boiling inside of him.

"How could you?" He demanded angrily.

"I was worried about you sir," Alex frowned.

“Worried my ass!” Leon barked at Alex.

"Just don't talk to me," Leon stormed off in the direction of his room. How could Alex betray him like that? How did Alex even know? Was he watching him?

Leon could barely think straight. He was shaking with anger.

The last thing he wanted to do was talk with his father right now.

"Leon, please." Alex whimpered as he entered Leon's room.

Leon turned to face Alex.

"You were supposed to be my friend!" He shouted. Alex cowered in fear.

"I'm sorry." Alex ran away slamming the door behind him.

Leon slammed his fist down on the desk with a thud. He noticed the door to his room opening again.

"Your father will see you now," Maria smiled at Leon.

"Thanks," He tried to smile back but he was still too angry. Maria was their head housekeeper, she was a sweet lady.

Leon took a deep breath. It was time to face his father.

"Son," His father greeted as Leon walked into the throne room.

"Father," Leon said with equal disgust.

"What on earth were you thinking? How could you be so immature? A Dufoe? Have you lost your mind?" His father yelled, his voice echoing through the cold tall room.

"I like him," Leon spoke with an eerie calmness, surprising himself.

"You like him?" His father scoffed.

"Yes, I like him," Leon gritted his teeth.

"You cannot possibly like Vincent Dufoe. Not only is he a wolf, but he is…." His father’s voice paused and Leon noticed a look of disgust written all over his face.

"So what! Stop trying to dictate my life!" Leon yelled, balling up his fists.

“Must I remind you that you are the first immediate heir to this family’s throne? How on earth do you expect to rule a kingdom and continue our legacy with a MALE DUFOE?! You’re making the same mistake your grandfather made,” His father barked.

“What mistake?! What does any of this have to do with my grandfather?” Leon asked in confusion.

“Never mind, forget I said any of that. From now on you are not to have any more contact with that mongrel. I will assign you a new instructor seeing as how Sanders is no longer fit for the job and you will be on extra surveillance whenever you step foot outside of this estate. Do I make myself clear?” His father asked in a stern tone.

“To hell with this shit!” Leon yelled out.

“Watch your tone with me boy!” His father demanded as he took a step towards Leon.

Leon stormed out the room, to the edge of the building before things escalated further between him and his father. He transformed and flew off the side.

He went back to the tree where he and Vincent saw each other earlier and sat down transforming back into human form, he had hoped to see Vincent again.
