Once upon a time there was a nice big black and white bear. His name was Mr Panda-Wanda. He lived in a lovely quiet forest, where no other creatures lived.

Except for his best friend of course. His best friend was called Samuel Snake. He was a serpent who lived curled up in the trees above Mr Panda-Wanda’s cave.

‘Now, Mr Panda-Wanda’, said Samuel Snake one fine morning, ‘You are running out of your favourite bamboo shoots, and soon you will have nothing left to eat.’

‘Oh dear, said Mr Panda-Wanda. ‘What shall I do?’

Samuel said ‘You must go into the forest to look for more. But don’t go into Mr Chee Woo Lin’s garden as he is not very nice.’
