This optimistic bias is real, very serious, and it controls the behavior of the individual investor as well as the professional analyst. It affects all of us in just about everything we do, and that’s something we might want to think about.

Being irrational is not all bad. After all, we do not want to be robots. I suspect creativity and uniqueness is tied to irrationality in some ways. But let’s try to set our money decisions aside when we get irrational. More trading, more action, more decisions do not translate into more gain. When in doubt, stay the course.
