Dunedin And The Otago Peninsula

This combined walking/driving route explores Dunedin’s historic buildings and the Otago Peninsula’s wealth of scenery and wildlife attractions, which include colonies of fur seals, Northern royal albatross and yellow-eyed penguins.

TIME: At least a full day or split into two days

START/END: Dunedin i-SITE Visitor Centre, The Octagon

POINTS TO NOTE: A car is required for the journey out to the Otago Peninsula. There are several fine sandy beaches along the way so remember to pack a bathing costume. Bring sensible walking shoes to explore Penguin Place, Natures Wonders and the Royal Albatross Centre at Taiaroa Head.
