Chapter Sixteen

The set for Emily’s bedroom was bustling with people laying down tracks for the camera to follow. The camera would be on a circular track around the bed, catching every angle and nuance of Eris’s and Cole’s performances. Cole knew they’d shoot the more extreme close-ups afterward, but this would capture the love scene from beginning to end. Awed by how Eris wanted the scene framed, Cole had practiced it enough times to know exactly where the camera would be at each given beat to the scene. It was going to look amazing.

She looked over where Eris was chatting with someone. She seemed so calm. Meanwhile, Cole was sweating under her many layers of clothing with both nerves and a strange excitement.

Please don’t let me screw this up. She’s working so damn hard getting this scene to have a truly intimate look.

Cole couldn’t hide her smile as Eris came sauntering back over toward her. Emily’s costume was as formal as usual. When the director yelled “action” Cole would help peel it off, layer by layer. Eris had painstakingly schooled Cole on the correct way to let down her long hair from its fashionable weave without tangling it or getting her hands stuck. Removing Hollister’s suit would be so much easier, yet she would be the one ultimately revealing the most. The binding wrapped around Cole’s chest was uncomfortable, but she knew it was necessary for the story. She wouldn’t be sorry to have Eris unwrap her from its constrictive hold.

Eris tugged at Cole’s jacket lapel. “Why do you look so spooked?”

Cole was disgruntled. She thought she’d been doing so well keeping her nerves under wraps. “Can I keep nothing from you?”

“Apparently not. Are you nervous about the scene? You know there’s only going to be the director and the camera operators in the room with us. Just three other people. And it’s a closed set. Not even Aiden will step foot in here.”

“I bet they had to warn Mischa not to come watch.”

“I wouldn’t be surprised. I’ve already sworn the women who’ll be watching us to secrecy not to reveal how very sexy you are when you’re naked.”

Cole huffed at her. “At least I won’t be completely naked on the screen.”

Eris leaned in closer. “It will all be artfully filmed but will look so real. We can do this. It’s going to be the talk of the movie.”

Cole jumped when the director suddenly shouted, “Clear the set.” The crew left, leaving just three women behind to capture the scene with Cole and Eris.

The director sat in her seat on the camera dolly and stuck her eye up to the camera lens. Cole and Eris took their positions by the door. Cole was shaking. She couldn’t stop the faint shiver that ran through her entire being.

“I’m more nervous about Hollister and Emily sleeping together than I was when you and I had our first time,” Cole whispered.

Eris reached up and cupped Cole’s cheek. “Channel it. Use it. Give Hollister that vulnerability.
