of being changed

into bark of sapling

and seed of sweet fruit

by hands large enough to clutch thunder

being changed into such

simply because some larger spirit or collection of constellations gathering

in the clouds

saw the skin of their love

as something too bright

to share with others

and so thought

here

I will place them here in this body

on this hill

in this sun

and starlight

that they may

do what they may do

and others can pass
