CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Missy

“Missy.”

“Yeah?”

“May I have your hand?”

“My hand? Why?”

“Just give me your hand.” Gabriel insists, his brown eyes masking his true intentions.

“Okay.” I voice and stretch my left hand to him.

To my surprise, he brings a ring from his pocket and slips it onto my left ring finger.

“What?! Gabriel! Wha…”

“Then it’s official, and we’re engaged.” He voices, a smile plastered on his handsome face. His eyes are smiling, and the dimples on his cheeks are deepening. So gorgeous.

“What do you mean? This is impromptu.” I try complaining in a bid to mask my blushing.

He laughs a bit. “Well, you shouldn’t be surprised though, we were going to get married anyways. For a year.”

He makes a great point, but I still complain. Just because we’re faking, it does not mean we should take each other for granted. I would’ve worn something special if I knew.”

“Sorry about that. You look stunning.” He apologizes and takes a pause. I nod in response.

“So what now?”I ask, knowing Gabe; he probably planned something out.

“Guess.”

“I should guess? Why?”

“Just guess, come on.”

“Normally, if a couple gets ‘engaged,’” I explain, gesturing a quotation mark with my fingers, “they go meet their parents.”

“Bullseye!” He exclaims. “You’re very smart.”

“Duh.” I reply in mock. “So we’re meeting up our parents?”

“Exactly. But this time, we’re engaged, so we’ll introduce ourselves to them as fiance and fiancée.” He vocals, spreading his arms in a way to explain the situation.

“Okay, but how do we do it? It’s obvious we’ve just been ‘dating’ for two weeks, so how do we explain we decided to get married after two weeks? Plus, it makes me look like a gold digger.” I reply, slowly bending my head.

“Well that isn’t an issue. We can say that we have been secretly dating for months now, and just recently got engaged. I think that would solve the problem.” He voices, “so, we’ll see my grandma first and then your parents.”

“Okay, so when are we doing this?”

“In two days time. I believe it would be best then.”
