"But how?"
"Max is from the Capital so it comes under our jurisdiction." Fox grinned at him.
Collins chucked. "I hope it was not you who pushed him to start investigation here." Fox laughed. Thankfully there was no one nearby to see them laughing while there was a corpse lying around.
"I cannot interfere in God's big pan. He wants me here. He wants me to make lives better."
"How Shameless are you? Pretending to be a believer for your convenience? You know what? You are just one step away from becoming a full psychopath."
"I think people who do things out of convenience are quite normal and I also think that you are already there." Fox fired back. They started their downward journey step by step. "There are too many things happening here. First, Zayn, then Emmy and now Max. Is it just me or something crazy is happening in this town?"
"Do you mean a serial killer?"
"It looks way worse than just one serial killer."

Fox and Collins joined the Ryller family at the dinner table in the grand hall. The rest of the hunting party was sent back considering the current events. The entire family was there except Emmy. There was Lord Mance Ryller, Penny, Natasha, old Lady Ryller and a tall man with a scrawny face.
"I am very angry with you, Fox." You two were so close to each other but you never came here after college." It was the old Lady Ryller speaking. "Even your father was a friend of my late husband. With such a close bonding, people expect more cordial relations."
Collins, who was last in the row, mimicked a gag without realizing that Penny was watching him with a mean expression.
"I try my best but you know with work commitments, it gets difficult to stay in touch." Fox replied.
"You should call your team here as you are now officially in charge of this case." Penny said. "Sebastian is not feeling well. The least I can do for him is to make sure that he gets justice."
"I mostly work alone but I can assure you that the criminal will be caught soon." Fox was getting annoyed with this household chitchat on regular basis.
"Then why do you keep an assistant?"
Collins took a deep breath. He had an idea that she would drag him in front of Lord Ryller, but he had no inclination to be friendly with these royal pains in his neck.
"Collins is not exactly an assistant. You can consider him as a part of my investigation machinery. I don't see him as another person." Fox smiled staring at Collins who felt a little embarrassed by this proclamation.
"I am sorry but I have to disagree here. If he was a tiny bit like you, a murder would not have happened under his nose." She said in a snarky manner.
"Really?" All the heads on the table turned to Collins who felt awkward getting under the spotlight.
"You were there?" Lord Ryller asked in amazement. "Then why didn't you catch the killer?"
"Because he was too busy sneaking into our lunch basket.
