I waited for over an hour, hoping Ellis would return. I gave up after that, so I changed into my work out clothes and headed down to the gym. I tried to run on the treadmill, but I couldn’t keep my normal pace. Even slowing down drastically, I was so breathless that I got off. Moving to work out with the weights instead, I got bored quickly and headed back to my room. What I really wanted was to find Ellis and make him finish what he’d started, but since he was with Patrick, I knew that wasn’t going to happen. After a quick shower, I put on jeans, a tight tank top and my riding boots. Braiding my hair as I walked through my room, I grabbed my phone and keys, stuffing them into my pocket before heading down the hall to go for a bike ride.
“Where are you going?” Ellis asked as he walked up the stairs. His eyes dragged over my legs slowly while he bit his lip.
“For a ride. You know, since someone left me all hot…” I trailed off when I realized that Patrick was only a few steps behind him. “I figured I would get out of here for a bit.” I quickly changed my tone. “You know, waste some time.”
“Okay. Well, we will probably be gone when you get back. We have some out of town business that we need to attend to,” Patrick stated, luckily having only heard the last part of what I’d said.
“How long will you be gone?” I couldn’t help but let my gaze drop to the floor, feeling let down, but I wouldn’t let either of them know that.
“A couple days. Maybe more, maybe less,” Ellis answered. Looking up, I could see the lines at the edge of his eye as he winced at having to share the news.
“Have fun. Be safe.” I turned and quickly disappeared down the stairs. Once I made it into the garage, I leaned back against the door and took a couple deep breaths. I felt my eyes burn as tears threatened, but I shook my head. I didn't know why I was upset at the sudden change in plans. It wasn’t like Patrick and Ellis didn’t leave at the drop of a dime many times in the past. Maybe it was that I was going to miss Ellis, maybe it was that I had been left hanging that morning; that’s what it had to be. My body was just pissed that it didn’t get to come and now it would be days until that was fulfilled.
Just as I was reaching up to push the garage button, the door to the house opened. I looked over my shoulder, locking eyes with Ellis. He let the door click shut before stepping in front of me, pressing my back against the wall. Tilting his head, he slid a knee between my legs as his lips met mine in a hungry kiss. I opened my mouth, accepting his tongue.
