Chapter Eight

Anton Wilks was utterly annoyed with Jerry. After receiving the call from Jerry the night before, he decided to take matters in his own hands. Anton jumped on the last red-eye plane and headed to Florida.

Jerry had met Anton at the dock first thing in the morning. Anton wore a baseball hat and sunglasses, trying to conceal his appearance in case he was recognized. Jerry knew Anton was royally pissed and was smart enough to keep his mouth shut until Anton asked him a question. Jerry drove him by the house that Amber Green was staying while on the island. Anton had seen a security truck leave the grounds as they did a drive-by.

“Mr. Sullivan must have tightened up his security since your fuck-up last night. Now I have to think of another way to look for my jewels. Because of your idiotic incompetence, I should go in there right now and shoot them all and find my stuff myself.”

“Boss, I’m telling you, I looked everywhere. I tore up everything in her room. Her belongings were sparse. I wasn’t sure how much time I had, so I wasn’t able to check out the rest of the house. We have to be careful. That detective is staying with them from Chicago. He knows what we look like. We have to keep a low profile while we’re here.”

Anton turned to face him from the driver’s seat of the car Jerry had rented. “Don’t you think I am aware of that you stupid fuck! I am going to have to figure out a plan where I have the slight chance of some possible alone time with Ms. Green. Maybe I need to question her the way her boyfriend Charlie was before I killed him. That is, after she shows me where my diamonds are first. “
