Chapter Eighteen

Harpy

It was getting dark, and all the food prep was done. Lots of thank yous and smiles from my troop, Sophomore House. It was easier for me to think of myself as their den mother, and this was my not-so-little pack of scouts.

The man heading my way was never a scout. I was about to say something, but Dane moved quickly, and I was up and over his shoulder the next instant. I squeaked out a sound as he headed toward the velvet rope, and Tituss unlatched that and latched it back as I tried to push off Dane’s back to look up at Tituss, who smiled at me and said, “Shift’s over. You don’t have classes tomorrow, right?”

Because I was aggravated with them and tired, I asked, “You think you two can last all night? It took you all day to—” I yelped. That was a swat, and it got my attention.

Dane sat me down in the bathroom and said, “Shower.”

I glared up and said, “Water good.”

“Harpy bad.” He glared right back at me. “You know, I bet it will sting a lot worse if your ass is wet.”

I went wide-eyed again. Mouth opened to say something, he put his two fingers in it. Just past my teeth and clasped my chin with his thumb. “Shower first. You talk all you want with my dick in your mouth.”

Tituss was not in this bathroom with us. Dane left the bathroom after letting me go. I looked at myself in the mirror and wanted to throw a tantrum. How had they not told me I looked like a straight-up crazy, homeless person all fucking day since getting back here? My hair was everywhere, and the attempts I thought I made at straightening it made it stick out in other crazy places. The shirt was on backward and inside out.

I fucking hated them. Honestly, at times like this, I realized I was not someone they were attracted to for real. I was simply theirs to fuck like one of those life-size dolls. When they wanted to, which was not really enough for my personal sex drive.

I showered and walked into a dimly lit room with some LED candles of varying styles. I was a bit skeptical of this as they stood there, fully clothed, and Tituss asked, “Nice, right?”

Dane smiled. Then he snorted a laugh. “I told you it was a waste of effort.”

Tituss rolled his eyes a bit and reached out a hand. I had a towel around my hair and another around my body. I went easily to him, and as he tugged me in closer, he dropped something I realized was a remote onto the desk. I listened as the sounds of our song filled the room. I really did hate him right now. Dane was in here, watching this, but this was not for someone else to see. It was ours, and he was ruining that for me. He whispered, “He’s taking a shower.”

I looked up and then back.
