When Curt meets a man who wants him in his bed as well as in his life, he thinks he may have found that special someone. He becomes suspicious of the man, however, when he learns that his mysterious disappearances may be part of a plan to lure the “Lost Boys” into a life much worse than the one from which they have been cast out. Curt also fears that his curiosity may have made him a marked man. Driven to find out more about the group with its cult-like following, Curt’s answers may lie in a young man who knocks on his door late one night, the same young man who has been watching him as he makes his debut as lead actor in a major motion picture.

Curt could not believe his eyes. He had seen photographs and paintings of the beautiful land that lay before him, but if he weren’t experiencing the wonder of it for himself, he would have doubted their validity. Born and raised in the “lower forty-eight,” as the contiguous forty-eight of the United States were referred to in the north country, Curt had been to nearly every one of them, but nowhere within the U.S. had he seen a land as beautiful and pristine as that which awaited him north of the border.

This was Canada, and this beautiful place was scheduled to be the setting of what promised to be a groundbreaking film. In Curt’s opinion, the producers of the grand venture couldn’t have chosen a more perfect setting. Curt was an actor and had been chosen to play the lead in this, his very first major motion picture. He had been chosen for numerous bit parts in past productions, but this was his time to shine.

Beauty wasn’t only to be found in the naturalness of Canada, but it was also clearly evident in the city of Vancouver, where Curt’s debut film would be produced. For the next several months Vancouver would be his home, and from what he had seen so far he couldn’t have chosen a better place for his big screen debut if he had chosen the location himself.

Soon after arriving in Vancouver, Curt and his fellow actors and actresses were given a quick tour of the city. Vancouver was referred to as a “city of neighbourhoods,” and Curt planned to immerse himself in as much of its diversity as he possibly could.

With a degree in ethnic studies, Curt had longed to experience many cultures throughout the world and Vancouver was home to persons of many of the societies about which he longed to learn.

The group’s tour guide informed them that people of English, Scottish and Irish descents historically comprised the largest ethnic groups in the city, with definitive elements of each still visible in many areas of Vancouver. The guide further informed them that Vancouver was home to many Chinese residents, and to Curt their presence seemed to be more visible than persons of other nationalities.
