The Humanity of Jesus

The Gospel contains many statements showing us that Jesus’ body on earth was a real human body. His humanity was obvious in that Jesus was hungry, tempted, and crucified. He walked and talked with His disciples and others. He suffered mental anguish and physical pain. He was fully human.

The Deity of Jesus

The Gospel includes many statements indicating the deity of Jesus. For example, Jesus is

Eternal (everlasting): He existed before the world was formed (John 8:58; 17:5).

Ever-Present: He is present everywhere at all times (Matthew 18:20).

All-Knowing: He demonstrated knowledge of things that could only be known if He were divine (Matthew 9:4; Matthew 11:27; Luke 6:8; John 4:29).

All-Powerful: He demonstrated unlimited, supernatural power and authority (Matthew 8:23–27; 28:18; Mark 5:11–15).
