Chapter 13

Garrett leaned up against Haven, just breathing in his scent as they sped down the road back to the Blackwood Pack.

“Garrett, lay your head on my shoulder and rest until we get back to the house. You’ve been through a lot . I want you safe at home . Just wait until you see the Cascade Mountains of our home. I just know you are going to love it there; it has to be one of the most beautiful places on this earth.”

“I’ve never been to Washington; I can’t wait to see it. Can you tel me a little about the Pack there while I close my eyes?” Garrett said and then leaned over. He was excited to hear about his new home ; hopefuly they would be able to put al this shit behind them. Garrett wished he was completely healed . I t sucked to feel so tired after just a little excitement, and his head kinda hurt, but he wasn’t teling Haven that.

“Several years ago, my father paid me to leave his Pack because of my sexual orientation. It was one of the lowest times in my life, losing my family that way. My father wrote me a check , and said he never wanted to see me again and that I was dead to him. As I left , my younger sister cried since she couldn’t go against our father , the Alpha of the Pack , “ Haven said with a steel tone. Garrett should have kept his mouth shut . He thought he was gonna tel him about the view, wel shit .

“I found a place in the Cascade Mountains soon after, it was the most peaceful place imaginable. Soon after , my best friend and Beta , Tyler, were the first of the men who came to live within “Haven’s Home” as they like to cal it . Over the last five years, many more have come and gone . Right now, we have twelve members of the Pack living in the Pack House; it makes for lively meal times around the place , “ Haven said , thinking that was probably enough . He hated talking about his father.

“Don’t worry; everyone is going to love you . You are amazing Garrett. They are al going to think I am the luckiest person around. They are al just waiting until the day they are lucky enough to find their mate.” In no time, they were once again puling into the Blackwood Pack House; this time, there were visible guards stroling around the outside of the compound on high alert. Haven was glad to see the extra protection after the disappearance of his mate. If he could keep Garrett by his side for the rest of his life, he would. Alex and his mate puled in right beside them as he puled Garrett out of the truck , h is hand held securely in his , as they waited for Alex to get out of the car.
