Chapter 11

“Diego!” Shay roared as Diego lifted his hips, bending him backward, while he slammed in and pegged Shay’s gland yet again. It was as if there was a homing beacon in his ass and Diego found his prostate with each energetic thrust. He no longer cared if this feeling that rushed through his body as Diego manhandled him was due to being blood-tied or just the fact that he was so fucking horny, he could pop.

Thinking back, maybe it was Diego’s expression when Shay kissed him. All wide-eyed wonder, disbelief, and so much need, it nearly undid Shay.

“You okay?” he’d asked.

“Why did you do that?” Diego questioned, a tremor of fear in his voice.

“Wanted to,” Shay answered, then did it again. “Wanna do it more too,” he said.

“Shay, I⁠—”

“Talk too much,” Shay replied, pulling Diego down and kissing him deeply.

“Stop, please….”

The breathy plea stopped Shay, not wanting to hurt Diego. “What’s wrong? Are you too weak? I didn’t think….”

“No, it’s not that. At all. You need to remember, I haven’t been with a man for over three hundred years. I…. I’m not sure if I can make it right for you.”

Interesting that the so-called “top of the food chain” worried about silly things like that. Diego was far more human than he believed.

“Diego, I would be perfectly content with you holding me while we slept.” He slid a hand down Diego’s chest and wrapped it around a rather impressive erection. “I would like this. A lot. But I can be patient.” He let go and stepped back.

“Noooo,” Diego moaned, reaching out for Shay.

“What’s wrong?”

A shake of his head. “I don’t want you to stop. Your hand felt so good. Too good.”

“Okay, how about you tell me what you’d like? Do you want me to touch you? I need to have permission before I do anything else.”

He smirked. “I don’t know that anyone has ever said they needed permission from a vampire. Usually it’s the other way around.” He stroked his fingers over Shay’s shoulders. “I don’t want you to stop. I just don’t want to disappoint you.”

“Sunshine, my last sexual encounter was with the man who beat me near to death. As long as you don’t hurt me, I’m pretty sure we’ll be good.”

Diego’s eyes darkened and he flashed a bit of fang. “I could find him,” he ground out. “Show him why it’s never a good idea to hurt someone a vampire cares for.”

No. Shay regretted saying anything. He wanted this, with Diego. He didn’t need someone else intruding. Therapy had been good for Shay. Had helped him find that strength he was sure he lacked. And he—wait.

“You care for me?”

“I do. You’ve been so good and kind and patient, and you helped pull me into this century. Yes, I was kicking and screaming, but I’m here, not back in my old life. Empatia is proud of my progress, which she says has its roots in allowing you to be in my life.” He leaned in and kissed Shay, who couldn’t help but whimper.
