éBars and Nightlife
The Basement
This small venue seating 100 people is one of two venues under the “Basement” umbrella (their other venue is the Basement East in East Nashville close to Little Five Points). Indie acts like Lucy Dacus and Dilly Dally are some of the artists you’ll see perform at this intimate spot, in addition to storytelling and holiday events. Tickets are generally affordable, ranging from free to $15. 1604 8th Ave., Suite 330, Wedgewood-Houston 615/645–9174 thebasementnashville.com.
Diskin Cider
The 8,000-square-foot facility includes a tasting room and patio. The menu includes cider cocktails and food, such as wings, crab cakes, grilled cheese, and more. Live music, art crawl after-parties, and other special events are held here. 1235 Martin St., Wedgewood-Houston 615/248–8000 diskincider.com Closed Mon.–Wed.
Flamingo Cocktail Club
Drawing inspiration from Miami clubs of the 1950s and ‘60s, this new space has a large open area and minimalist seating. They host theme parties, live music, workshops for makers and creatives, and other special events. 509 Houston St., Wedgewood-Houston 786/942–8279 flamingococktailclub.com.
Jackalope Brewing Company–The Ranch Taproom + Brewery
This second location, referred to as “The Ranch,” opened in fall 2018. There are 16 beers on tap; the menu is limited, but you can bring your own food and food trucks are on-site on Saturday. Tours of the brewing facility are available (and are open to children); there’s shuffleboard on the patio. 429B Houston St., Wedgewood-Houston 615/873–4313 jackalopebrew.com Closed Mon. and Tues.
Santa’s Pub
It’s five o’clock somewhere, and it’s certainly always Christmas at Santa’s Pub, a double-wide trailer festooned with holiday decorations inside and out. Open until the wee hours with cheap beer (no liquor is served), nightly karaoke, and a house band performing on Sunday night, this kitschy pub is located between Wedgewood-Houston and the Melrose neighborhoods. 2225 Bransford Ave., Wedgewood-Houston 615/593–1872 santaspub.com Cash only—ATM located outside of bar.
