XIII - Violence for Breakfast
"What was the idea of all that?" Dryden roared, shaking his false whiskers at the cabin rafters. "You don't think these skunk pelts fooled him for a minute, do you?"
"No," said Doc calmly. "I do not."
"Then why? For God's sake, you made us look like blithering idiots!"
"Exactly. And no one would confuse an idiot for a secret agent."
Breckenridge <snapped> his fingers.
"I get it! They were a psychological disguise."
"Something like that," Doc admitted.
Arthur Dryden was so taken aback by this answer that he sputtered for a full half-minute.
When he ran out of sputters, he fell into a moody silence.

Peter Breckenridge broke the silence after several minutes.
"Now I ask you. Isn't there some slight risk in telling a guy as big as Poltov that you are going to have breakfast with his dame?" he asked. "That bird may be the original Russian Giant. I don't think I ever saw a bigger Russky."
"He will not be a problem."
Doc began hunting a mirror.
"Banner can bounce him around like a basketball. And he knows it."
Not finding a mirror, he polished one of the aluminum cases with his sleeve and examined his disguise on its surface.
"I don't think Miss Kirkegaard is his 'dame' as you so inelegantly put it," he added.
"Well, Poltov's eye glittered when you mentioned her," warned Breckenridge.
"He has a glittering eye," said Doc.
He decided that he looked like an Eskimo in the stuff he was wearing. But he also remembered it was cold outside.
"Shall I change to a business suit for my breakfast date? Is it better to be presentable or comfortable?" he asked.
"You haven't even got a breakfast date," Dryden said acidly.
