Chapter Seven

We managed to keep our hands off each other by sitting as far apart as possible in the small car, not even touching hands. The increasing headiness of Lee's scent concentrated in such a small space did nothing to help, though. I didn't want to cause a scene in the backseat and end up in jail for public indecency, though, so dug my fingers tightly into my thighs, wincing as my claws edged up, my wolf thrashing with impatience.

Finally, we arrived. Lee threw money at the cab driver and we were out, racing to his apartment. Thankfully, he lived in a bit of a nicer place than I did, one with a elevator that offered at least some semblance of privacy.

I don't know who initiated it, but as soon as the elevator doors closed, we were on each other picking right back up where we'd left off when the taxi had arrived. his hands were pushing at my shirt, pulling it out of my pants, and then his hands were on my skin leaving a burning trail of desire wherever they touched.

The elevator arrived with a ding and Lee started pushing me backward out of the doors, his mouth still on mine, his hands still attempting to remove my clothing. He backed me up against a door and my hands dropped to his belt. He pressed against me with a groan, our erections rubbing tantalizingly together. I was vaguely aware of the jingle of keys and then the door behind me gave way and I fell backwards, but Lee caught me about the waist, swinging us both inside and slamming the door behind him.

We started trying to strip each other in earnest, dropping each item of clothing wherever as Lee kept us moving. By the time we reached his bed, I was left in my pants and boxers, the fly opened, my cock begging to be released.

Lee pushed me down and made quick work of my remaining clothes, then did the same for himself. Finally, we were naked.

The world froze for a moment and I could fee Lee's eyes rake over my body as I did the same to him. He was perfection, all lithe muscle. He had broad shoulders--I was a sucker for a guy with broad shoulders--and that amazing cut of a vee leading right down to his thick erection.

"Damn, you're amazing," he said, his voice breathy with reverence.

"I was about to say the same thing to you," I replied. I spread my legs without a shred of self-consciousness. "Come here."

He approached me warily, like a hunter with prey, a sensation I wasn't used to. I was used to being the hunter, not the hunted. But my wolf was more than pleased with my mate's attention. I craned my neck back, bearing myself in an ancient instinct to submit. Not to give Lee control over me, to subjugate me, but to give him permission to care for me, to guide my body in pleasure and then to bind himself to me.
