XUECHI woke up in horror, sweat covering every inch of his body. Fuck, that nightmare again, one of the worst ones. Lately he had been having more nightmares, even if he slept with his ladies before he went to sleep. Right now, he just needed alcohol to smooth his nerves, or pleasure from sex. Or better yet, both.

More than anything, he needed to use the restroom.

Someone was holding his hand. The hand was calloused, but warm… almost comforting. Maybe that was why he hadn’t felt as bad as he usually did, maybe that was why he had still believed someone would save him in that nightmare. He looked up and immediately drew his own hand back. “Still here?” he asked, feeling his cheeks warm with humiliation. He averted his gaze. “Fine, since you’re here, why don’t you bring me some alcohol? I’m in desperate need of it.”

Shicai was studying him again in that annoying fashion. Then, in that irritating voice that was mixed with concern and admonition, he said, “You’re planning to fake your death again, aren’t you?”
