A recent analysis shows that, since the merging of the sales office and order processing departments, two out of three incoming calls are being misrouted by the switchboard and have to be transferred.

As the whole intention of this department is to hold and develop customer business by ensuring prompt, efficient service, this is not only a frustration internally, it risks reducing customers’ image of the organisation and, at worst, losing orders.

I would be grateful if you could have a word with the supervisor and operators on the switchboard to ensure that the situation is rectified before serious damage results.
