Dear Diary,

The show this past weekend was by far the most exciting, interesting, and rewarding one I’ve ever been to. Debonair was amazing during all his events, which I am very proud of him for. When we went after that little girl, we were linked as one body. When I saw that prelim brush jump, I was thinking, “Oh, no, what are we going to do?” I mean, we could have turned around, but we would have been further behind the girl then we already were. I think Debonair knew what we were doing; I just needed that reassurance that everything was going to be OK. When we jumped over the prelim jump it felt like we were going in slow motion—so slow, it felt like we were flying.

When we caught up to the girl and she was clinging to my arms for dear life, I felt a sense of mothering to the child. Watching her walk away in her parents’ arms, I knew she had a life worth living, one far greater than my own, with her mother and father. Knowing that she was going to be OK was more than enough of a reward for me. When I received those flowers I felt as though I didn’t deserve them. I mean, no one was helping her when she was crying out for help and, knowing how that feels, I just had to go help her. Knowing that she is now safe and sound with her mother and father is more of a comfort for me than anything else.

Well, after this exciting weekend, Dustin and I will head back to Manhattan to pick up Guardian and go back to Kentucky for Christmas Break.
