Chapter 7
ELLIE
I startle awake when rain begins to steadily drip on my face in a shower of warm droplets, I grimace as one falls on my nose and another on my eyelid.
I turn to my side and burrow further into the large hot chest of the man I just gave my virginity to.
Or should I say, the stranger.
That’s what Damon is: a perfect stranger.
So why doesn’t this feel wrong?
I should be cringing right now, thinking about how irresponsible we acted, but I can’t bring myself to.
Damon might be a stranger, yes, but he doesn’t feel like one to me.
Being here with him on this beach under the pitch black sky with not a single star in sight anymore because of the rain, I should be scared, but I’m not: I feel protected and like I’ve finally found a place where I belong.
In the circle of his arms, with my head resting over one of his massive tattooed pectorals and his large hands possessively splayed on me, one on my outer thigh and the other on my bottom, I feel perfectly safe and the only thing I can do, is smile to myself in the darkness as the warm sand tickles my naked back and the ocean’s waves whoosh back and forth over the nearby shore.
Still, this is utterly crazy.
I didn’t even know Damon existed before tonight and here we are now.
I’ve just had sex with a man I don’t know, out in the open and with no protection.
From virgin to vixen in sixty seconds.
I didn’t know I had it in me.
Only this afternoon, a romantic encounter with a sexy tattooed giant stranger was the farthest thing from my mind as I got ready for the party with my friends and now here I am, my heart in the fuzzy clutches of feelings I’ve never known before.
If someone had suggested that I would give away without a single thought something I’ve guarded all these years in the space of one night with this man, without even knowing his last name, I would have laughed them out of the room, but I did do it and I can’t find it in myself to regret this night, no matter what.
A dreamy night like this is just the thing for which I sent any previous guy who tried to get into my pants packing after all.
I didn’t want to lose my virginity without feelings and I haven’t: if anything, there are too many feelings, too many emotions to count, running through my heart and mind right now.
My eyes slowly get used to the darkness and as the rain starts to let up, I study the sleeping man at my side.
The huge, muscular and naked —let’s not forget that not so small detail— man sleeping at my side.
The smile on my lips stretches bigger when I see his nose twice as more drops of rain fall on his beautiful face.
And when I say, beautiful face, I don’t use the word lightly: this guy is
