The controversy was not insignificant—not when 5.7 million gallons of seawater was involved. Tempers flared during the spirited discussion, and Harry Gray pushed and prodded, mostly yanking our chains. I was seated next to Ray D’Argenio, UTC’s senior public relations executive.
