Chapter Twenty-three

Now that they had settled on a course of action for their new property, Alexis and Imani said good night, and Alexis made the forty-five-minute drive to The Ritz-Carlton on Amelia Island. When Ronan opened the door and let her in, he kissed Alexis hungrily, as they stumbled into the wall. He pinned her against it, and then he kissed and sucked her neck and chest. Her fingers roamed wildly across his body. Alexis unbuttoned his shirt, rubbed his chest, and lathered his neck and chest with kisses.

They looked into each other’s eyes. Ronan reached for her face and pulled her toward him. Their tongues became entangled in passion. He unzipped her dress, allowed it to fall to the floor, and then he took off his pants. He kissed Alexis again and gently laid her body down on the bed. He lay next to her.

It was just then that her phone began to ring.

Both Alexis and Ronan looked into each other’s eyes and then at her purse.

She knew who was calling.

It couldn’t be anybody but Cameron.

Alexis immediately flashed back to a situation just like this, only it was Hedrick calling. It was shortly after the Miami Boys had come to town. Hareem had just robbed two of their dealers, and she’d lost major product. Alexis was naked and wet, and Ronan was rock hard and moving toward her when her cell rang.

“I have to take this,” Alexis had said that night and took the call. Once Hedrick told her what had happened, she told Hedrick, “I’m on my way.”

That night, Alexis apologized to Ronan, told him the best lie she could come up with, got dressed, and left him in bed with a promise to return when her business was done. She did come back of course, and when she did, Alexis brought her A game and left him curled in the fetal position on his side of the bed, shaking and saying, “Don’t touch me.” But for Ronan, that night was the beginning of the end for them. One month later he was entertaining the offer from Cary, Estrada, Walsh & Associates.

Alexis could hear Imani’s voice saying, “Try not to fuck it up this time.”

She shook her head. Not this time.

Alexis gently pushed Ronan onto his back, straddled his body, grabbed his dick, and eased herself down on it. She rode him slowly while he feasted happily on her plump nipples. He began to feel her legs trembling on his thighs, and he pushed harder. Alexis bore down on him and increased her pace, pounding her hips furiously onto Ronan until she reached a very loud and violent climax.

In the morning, Alexis woke up feeling amazing. They made love, and then Alexis got up, and while Ronan got ready to attend his conference, she made the drive back to Jacksonville, singing.
