CHAPTER 11

A loud bang woke Logan up from his sleep. Jensen whimpered as Logan slowly slid from the covers. He was making his way to the door with half-closed eyes, when he remembered he was naked and the promise he made to his mate. Grabbing his pants, Logan quickly pulled them on hopping from one foot to the other as he made his way to the door.

The knocking grew louder. Logan stubbed his toe on the chair causing him to hiss, “Fuck! Coming!”

The banging grew harder and Logan limped to the door, hearing Jagger saying, “Babe, give the man a chance to get to the door.”

“I told him I would be here first thing this morning. He should have been up and ready. Besides, I told you I have to get to the council building. After what just happened, Illan has called a meeting with all the shifters and paranormals currently in Maddox. I can’t go there until I know what is going on here and that Jensen is okay,” Nick stated firmly.

Logan opened the door, saying, “Jensen is fine, Nick. It was a long night and he is still asleep. Come in.”

Nick walked in with Jagger and Logan was surprised to see they weren’t alone. Destrain and two of the king’s guards were close behind them. If Logan wasn’t mistaken, one of those guards was a squad leader to the griffion army known as Wolf. He was fucking huge at almost seven and a half feet tall with his five o’clock shadow and dark wavy hair touching his shoulder. Shit, if Jensen sees these guys, he knew his mate was going to panic.

“Why are they here? If any of you think you’re going to take my mate from here, you have another thing coming,” Logan stated angrily.

Destrain stepped forward. “Calm yourself, no one is here to take Jensen anywhere.”

“Logan, is everything okay?” Jensen asked nervously.

“Damn,” Wolf muttered low, but not low enough that Logan didn’t hear him.

Turning, Logan about swallowed his tongue. His mate stood there wearing one of his large t-shirts that barely went to his upper thigh. Turning back to the warrior, Logan snarled, “I suggest you stop staring at my mate or I will gouge your eyes out myself.”

Jagger went to Jensen, wrapping an arm around the man, saying, “Everything is fine, Jensen. Why don’t we get you dressed so we can talk? A lot has happened since you and Logan left the dock area.”

Logan turned to Nick. “What’s going on? Is everything alright? I thought you were here to talk about what’s going on with Jensen and what happened to Sut. How is he, anyway?”

Nick sighed. “Sut is Sut. Pissed, but fine. I did come here to talk about Jensen, but as my mate said, a lot has happened, and we don’t have a lot of time. Destrain and I are needed at the council building.”

Jensen returned with Jagger and to Logan’s joy, he rushed straight into his arms.

“Why don’t we all sit so we can talk? I’ll put on some coffee,” Jagger said going into the kitchen.
