“This place is ridiculous.”

Jake pressed the code into the pad and the garage door opened. “What?” he asked.

“Your house is a mini mansion,” I mumbled.

“Hardly, Viv. Your place is bigger than mine.”

Mine may be bigger, but Jake’s was way more extravagant. I hitched my duffel bag onto my shoulder, held Finn in the crook of my arm, and tried not to be intimidated by the large, modern house. “You’re kidding me.”

Jake pushed his sunglasses on top of his head and glanced over at me. “What?”

“You have three cars in your garage.”

“Is that a problem?”

I laughed. “No, though I have to ask, why three?”

A smirk spread across his lips. “I actually have four. My truck is still at work.”

Of course. How could I have forgotten that? “This one looks expensive.” I ran my hand over the shiny red fender of a car I didn’t know the name of, but I knew it was nice.

“Just a Corvette.”

“Just?”

“Cars are kinda my thing. I do own a parts supply store after all.” He walked between the Corvette and blue convertible.

“What’s this one?” I asked.

“Maserati.”

I had no clue what that was, but it looked expensive. “Can we take that to your office?”

Jake chuckled. “Only if I’m driving, woman.”

I huffed and stepped into the house. “You’re not supposed to handle heavy machinery until tomorrow.” Finn wiggled in my arm to be let down. I bent down and watched him wander into the house.

“Then I guess we’re going in your car.”

We walked into a large and spacious kitchen that was all white, with gray, marble counters. “But since the parts store is only a few minutes away and I’ll be with you, I think you can drive.”

Jake grabbed my bag and dropped it by the island. “You’ll make an exception?” He grabbed me around the waist and pulled me close.

“Just this once,” I whispered.

“Been wanting to kiss you since I walked into the body shop.”

And we were done making small talk. “Is that so? Even though I just wanted you for your water pump.”

“You did have an eye on that,” he chuckled.

“Except I didn’t notice that till after I checked you out.”

“That so?”

“Yup.”

“You liked what you saw?”

More like, I loved what I saw. Silver fox to the T, with a smoking hot body. “You might be my type.”

“And just what exactly is your type?” He reached up and cradled my cheek in his hand.

“Well, you. Tall, handsome, silver hair. Maybe a little bit of stubble like this.” I brushed my hand over the scruff on his face. Also, breathing was a good thing.

“Seems like I was meant for you then.” His thumb brushed over my lips. “Are these as soft as they look?”

My eyes connected with his. “Only one way to find out,” I urged.

His eyes were molten with desire. “Fuck it.” His lips claimed mine, and I melted into his arms. His fingers delved into my hair, and I sighed into the kiss. My tongue rolled against his, tasting and teasing.

His hands traveled down my body and squeezed my ass.
