I almost scream when an arm wraps around me from behind, pulling me back into a stranger's embrace. A stubbled face buries itself in my neck, and I immediately relax - I know that smell, I know that body, I know the lips that are kissing my sensitive skin. Erich. The shadows are lengthening around us, night is falling, I need to get back to Naomi's House, but all I can do is moan and savor the sensation of his strong arms around me.

"Alyssa," he growls, his desire rough and raw, but then he freezes. I blink, and twist to look up at him. "Whose scent is on you?"

"Whose scent...?" I don't know what he's talking about, but his tone is cold, forbidding - furious.

"I smell another wolf." He ducks his nose back to my neck, sniffs sharply, and then spins me around. "Have you been fucking somebody else?"

"Fucking...?" My mind isn't processing his question. His amber eyes are livid. "What? No!"

"Who is he?" His hands are tight on my shoulders, his demand flat and imperious.

"Will you quit acting crazy? I haven't touched anybody else since you left me." I pause. "Except for Laughs~at~the~Sun, the shaman. Naomi just took me to meet him."

Erich's eyes are narrowed with suspicion. "The shaman?" I can see him process this quickly in his mind. "Why did you go see him?"

"It's none of your business." I shrug his hands off me and take a step back. "I thought you said this was going to be no strings attached." I glare up at him.

"It is." He runs his hand through his hair, still radiating pent-up anger. Anger that now has no focus, no outlet. "But the thought of another wolf fucking your sweet body... I can't stand that."

I step forward, poking my index finger into his chest. "Well, there isn't anybody else. No other wolves are lining up to fuck me, all right? Now I've got to get going."

I turn to walk away, but he catches my hand and spins me back into his embrace. He's corded with muscle, inhumanly perfect, and this close, my breasts pressed to his chest, I'm immediately flooded with desire. His eyes seem to burn in the gloom beneath the branches. "I said I'd come for you tonight."

I'm mesmerized by his lips. I want to taste them, to lose myself in his embrace. Instead I struggle half-heartedly in his arms. "Well, come find me in the House when it's dark. I can't be outside."

"I need you now." He leans down and kisses the hollow behind my ear, his breath warm and causing my breath to catch. His hands lower to cup my ass, pull me to him as he insinuates his thigh between my own. I can't help but push my sex against him, rubbing it against his powerful muscle.

"No," I whisper. "I have to get back..."

"I need you, Alyssa. I've been thinking about you all day." His lips move down my neck to my collarbone. His hands take my shirt and pull it up over my head.
