Chapter Sixteen

Alexandra was freaking out...

She was totally freaking out right now.

The baby wasn't stable.

She was too stressed and the effort she made lately was too much for her three month pregnant body to handle.

Alexandra wiped her tears for what seemed to be the hundred times that day. Crying wouldn't help anybody, she knew that, but she simply couldn't stop. Once her tears flew there was no end to them.

Devon had his face in his hands completely lost in thoughts. There was nothing he could do. The only thing he could have done was killing those bastards who stressed her, but his wife took care of them already.

He pulled the roots of his hair in frustration.

If he was more attentive, nothing would have happened. If he looked after her more. If he called. If he was with her at that time. If he-

Alex hugged him to her and kissed his forehead. He was almost half shifting. She needed to calm him down. The hospital would never be able to handle his lycian.

"Devon, it's not your fault. Stop blaming yourself, it wouldn't help anyone when you freak out on me. Calm down please." Devon looked at her blankly. "You know I can handle myself in any situation."

Devon sighed before sitting on his knees in front of her and kissing her stomach. "I know, I never doubted you, but…Our daughter."

Alex sniffled. "I know" She sighed. "We can only do as the doctor said. I'll take those dietary supplements, extra vitamins and iron tablets and pray…"

Devon nodded. "We can't tell Daniel though. I don't want him doing something as reckless as going after vampires in a spurt of anger."

Alex stood up nodding. "Okay." She whispered. "I'll just go to the bathroom while you fill the discharge papers for me."

Devon groaned in anger throwing his head to the back "Think, think! What can I do? Just…What can I do?" He whispered brokenly.
