Chapter Seven

Dillon woke as Edward entered the room, carrying a tray laden with delicious smelling food. The servant hesitated momentarily and then approached, laying the tray on the bedside table.

“Thank you,” said Dillon softly and the elderly gentleman smiled.

“Good evening, Sir. Is there anything else I can get you before I retire for the night?”

Dillon paused in surprise. First that it was already evening. Second, Edward had called him Sir? “I … uh … no, thank you, I’m fine,” he stuttered.

Edward inclined his head with a smile and left the room.

Dillon rose from the bed, flinching as his sore bum hit the sheets.

This time he smiled at the burn. Never before had he felt such an intense orgasm.

He sighed, facing the truth about himself. He wanted … no … needed to be dominated and disciplined. But, even realizing this, he knew wouldn’t accept such treatment from anyone other than his master.

That fact scared him.

Pushing it to the back of his mind, he picked up the tray and carried it to the hearth. He sat on the rug in front of his master’s chair and ate ravenously. The moon was up and his body needed food for strength, aching to shift and run.

Forcing himself to breathe calmly, he thought back to his master’s words, asking if he needed to be bound.

Could the man have possibly known how hard it was for him to stay contained indoors on a full moon?

Dillon cursed. His master had given him every opportunity to speak and say what he needed. He was sure the Norseman would not have allowed him to shift and run, but he could have let himself be bound, rather than disobey.

He took a deep breath. He had given his word to stay in the room and he would do it. Looking at the side table, he reached for one of the books his master had left him.

He took the largest one into his hand and opened it, staring down in amazement at the beautiful paintings of animals. There were groups of species that seemed to be separated into their distinct habitat types. He thumbed through page after page of forest creatures, stopping when he came to the wolf.

The picture was beautiful. A large gray male howling at the moon.

Chills went through Dillon and he felt himself slipping. Then he froze, hearing a chorus of howls from outside. They were near …

The shift was instantaneous. He leaped for the window and it pushed open, the latch breaking under his weight.

Dillon ran, exhilaration flooding him as he howled and ran for the wolves.

Eric entered his home mid-morning, surprised at how eager he was to see Dillon again. He stopped in the parlor nearest his bedroom and forced himself to sit and read his mail.

Edward entered the room, a tray laden with tea and scones. “May I fix your breakfast, Sir?”

Eric smiled and nodded. “Yes, thank you Edward. Bacon and eggs for myself and Dillon.”

Edward nodded and left the room. Eric broke the wax of a sealed letter and then looked up in surprise at Dillon standing before him.
