So I'm laying there wondering how I could even have REMOTELY considered the possibility of going to his party last week and I'm sweating and hot even though the air conditioner is blowing really cold. So I go out and take a swim. And Marie surprises me and comes out in her bathing suit.

I try to talk her into skinny dipping with me but since she like runs the hotel she thinks it would set a bad precedent for the other employees. And the other guests as well. We make out in the water though. And my mood goes way up. I tell her about my day. About Nails and his knife. She seems very happy that I'm alive and this makes me very happy.

She leads me up to the roof of the hotel and we make love up there in the open air. I wonder how I ever could have felt so shitty earlier.

Then we go back to my room and decide to order dinner. Neither of us feels like hotel stuff though. So we go through one of those free local papers. There's a big ad for a new Japanese restaurant and they even have a website so we figure they must be good. Or they must at least deliver.

So I go in to the bathroom (still going) while Marie orders our dinner. "Better stay out of there for awhile," I say when I come out. "There's a bit of a 'situation.'

She smiles at me and tells me we have to pick something else for dinner as that place doesn't deliver. She tells me she asked the restaurant what the point was of having a web site was and no delivery. And they made some joke about having a virtual dinner. Which we both agree seems a little glib and hope they go out of business soon. Because seriously, how stupid is that. Unless you have a like fucking virtual stomach - which at this point I'm thinking maybe I do since it seems like I can't digest a fucking thing anymore.

But so now Marie wants a pizza and though it'll be my second of the day I tell her go ahead since I'm having all this trouble on the food-eating front anyway. So we fool around on the bed while we wait for them to show up.

Then Marie goes in to take a shower. So I flip around the TV channels. Beach house on MTV. Melissa Etheridge video on VH1. I’ve never actually stayed on the channel long enough to see if they'll actually put someone else's video on after hers (or if in fact, as it seems, they really do have an all Melissa Etheridge policy) So I decide to wait it out and see - but I'm saved by the pizza. I flip off the TV and pay the guy.

Marie scarfs down a few slices. I'm a little more careful. Then I go and take a shower. I feel pretty good.

I come out and Marie is going through my papers.
