Once she redressed, I cradled her in my arms the rest of the flight, and she dozed off. The abrupt halt of the plane slamming onto the runway woke her from her nap, and I placed a small kiss on her forehead. With sleepy eyes and a yawn teetering on the edge of her lips, she pressed her fingers to my chest and lifted. The lights in the distance caught her attention, and she fixed on them like a cat discovering wool for the first time. Surprisingly she never asked me where the convention was being held. The whites of her eyes brightened as the jet made its way down the runway.

"Are you excited, sweetie?" I asked as I ran a knuckle down her soft cheek.

The latch opened, and Olivia hopped down the steps with excitement flowing through her bones. So fucking cute. I wondered if she had ever been to a resort like this one before; from the look on her face, I doubted it, which made my heart bloom. I guided her through the airport, taking her hand in mine, and steered her toward the exit where a black sedan waited for us.

"I thought this was a security convention?" She slid into the car and swung her legs in front of her as she stared out the window.

I slid in beside her and wedged my arm between her back and the leather seat. "Well, it's better to chat with like-minded people over a beautiful sunset than in a dull conference room."

She smiled and tapped the toes of her tennis shoes together as she swung her legs. It nearly killed me. I forgot that the annual private security conference took place here. I've had the luxury of traveling all over the world more times than I could count, so being here didn't have the same effect on me that it did, Olivia. The car pulled into the circle of our hotel, and I grabbed her hand. I needed to hold on to her to keep her safe and to prevent her from running off due to excitement. I tugged her arm and swung her body in front of mine as we approached the front desk. Resting my chin on the top of her head, she toyed with the colorful pamphlets in the display holder as I checked us in.

"Good evening, Mr. West. I see we have you in the two-bedroom—"

"Can you switch that out for your one-bedroom executive suite?"

I no longer needed the two-bedroom suite. There was no way in hell my baby girl was sleeping in a separate room, let alone a separate bed from mine. I pressed my front into Olivia's back, giving her a sneak peek at the monster begging to be let out. She took notice and lifted her chin to the ceiling until her intoxicating eyes met mine. I grabbed the keycards and pulled Olivia toward the elevators. It seemed like time came to a brutal crawl once the jet landed. I needed Olivia in my bed, and I needed her there now.
