Chapter Twelve

Kayla

Nine days until the full moon

We had an exciting trip, and we had gained a good insight into the wolf that we now knew was called Dorian Grey. It was also frustrating in a way, as I now had a million more questions to try to find answers to and not enough time to find them. Max and Masie had gone back into town, and Jackson was at the gym. It gave me a little time to look into the disappearances; maybe they would be able to provide us with more of an insight into Dorian. I had hoped that we could have found his family, but there were thousands of Grey’s in America, and because they did not want to be found, I would put money on them having changed their names.

I searched through dozens of newspaper articles about the missing girls; I was not entirely sure what I was looking for exactly, but there had to be a link. I could not understand why he would kidnap so many teenage girls or what he had done with them. According to all of the articles, there were never any bodies found, so these girls had to be out there somewhere. Maybe he was keeping them somewhere in our town. After we defeated him, we would have to try to find them. I felt the pain on each of the parents’ faces.

I was feeling hungry, it had been hours since breakfast, and we would probably be having a late dinner because of our flight time. I decided to order a burger, fries, and a milkshake from room service. I texted Max and Jackson to see if they wanted me to order them one too. Max said he and Masie would grab lunch in town, and Jackson wanted the same as me. I placed the order and put my laptop away, deciding to print the articles off when we got home.

Jackson got back to the room, just as the food was brought up. He decided to grab a quick shower before he ate. I decided to wait for him, so I sat on the sofa in the suite and placed the plates of food and drinks on the coffee table. I turned the television on low for some background noise because I had always had a thing about sitting in silence; I hated it and needed to have some background noise. It probably had a lot to do with my parents being away so much, and as a result of that, I spent a long time in an empty house.

As soon as we finished our food, Jackson and I decided to try and have a nap, it was going to be a long night because of the traveling, and neither of us would sleep on the plane. I was unsure when Max and Masie would be back, but I thought they would probably try to get some sleep once they got back.
