Matching Sales to Coupons – The Eclipse of Value
One of the most exciting and visceral pay-offs of couponing is finding that perfect eclipse of a solid sale price and a solid coupon. When these two factors converge around a product that you like (especially a nonperishable one that you can stock up on), that’s when the real magic happens. Matching the sale to the coupon, for most couponers, is where the rubber meets the road.
The routine goes a little something like this: you receive your weekly grocery store circulars in the mail, you scan through them and mark the items that you’re interested in, then you cross-check the sale items with your organized coupon collection, looking for matches. Conventional wisdom holds that items go on sale every eight to twelve weeks.
