A clean garbage disposal begins with a pitcher of homemade lemonade. Make as usual, combine with ice cubes in a glass, and have a nice, cool drink. When you’re completely refreshed, throw one or two of the used lemons into the disposal and grind. See how easy it is?

For firmer, fresher fruits and vegetables, line your refrigerator crisper with paper towels. The towels will absorb excess moisture and your fruits and vegetables will keep their snap.

If your refrigerator has become musty or outright smelly, place fresh coffee grounds in a saucer and put it on a lower shelf. The smell should be gone within a week. If it isn’t, replace with fresh grounds and check to make sure the source of the odor has been thrown out. Once the smell is taken care of, an open box of baking soda in the fridge will keep it smelling fresh.

When you clean your fridge, don’t forget to wash the seals as well. Use a small, clean brush to gently sweep away crumbs and dirt caught in the grooves of the seal.
