Chapter Fifteen

For a moment Jaia was startled by the abrupt shift in him, then the feel of his lips registered. She closed her eyes, sinking into the kiss. Her belly flipped at the way he cradled the back of her head with one hand, possessive yet tender, his other arm banded tight around her back, as though he couldn’t get close enough. He tasted like cinnamon and cardamom.

She took his face in her hands, needing to convey how much she cared and wanted him. Brandon made a low sound and angled his head. His lips clung to hers. Molding to them, sucking gently before gliding his tongue across her lower one.

She parted for him instantly, stroking her own against his. Molten heat pooled in her core, a dizzying rush of desire burning everything away but the hunger he’d ignited.

One more searing kiss and he stopped abruptly, easing back to stare at her.

Her heart pounded out of control, her body humming with desire. The blazing heat in those blue, blue eyes took her breath away, the need she saw reflected there mirroring her own.

She wound her arms around his neck and flattened herself to the front of his hard body, the heavy pulse between her legs making her rock against the bulge in his jeans. Her whole world had been turned upside down with Sukhi’s death and spiraled farther and farther out of control.

Brandon was the only stable thing in it. The only bit of safe, solid ground she had found to stand on.

She needed this. Needed him.

For once she didn’t want to think, or remember all the terrifying, crazy things that had happened. She only wanted to feel, to break her own rules—with him.

As if he sensed her mental surrender, Brandon let out a soft growl and wrapped both arms around her hips. An instant later he was lifting her and standing.

Not wanting to let go of him for even a second, she locked her legs around his waist and grabbed his shoulders for balance, gliding her tongue against his, fingers digging into hard muscle she couldn’t wait to explore properly.

Everything else faded away as he carried her into the darkened bedroom. Her back touched the mattress, then his warm, heavy weight blanketed her from chest to thigh. She moaned at the feel of him, the unmistakable ridge of his erection nestled between her thighs.

She’d never experienced this level of desire before. Had never rushed into anything physical before. Brandon made her want to throw all caution aside, her instinctive trust in him guiding her actions.

Make me forget. Even if it’s just for tonight.

Brandon braced himself on his elbows, his hands tangling in her hair, tongue gliding along hers in an erotic dance that made her whole body pulse. He nipped at her lower lip, sucked and licked at it, then his lips burned a searing path to her chin, down the side of her neck, pausing to drag his tongue along a sensitive spot that made her gasp and arch.
