As we approached the group where they lounged all along the dock like seals, I watched Wright's head slowly pan in my direction out of the corner of my eye. I sighed, rolling my eyes before turning to meet his gaze.

"I know," I said, nodding my head in understanding. "But they're not as bad as you think."

I cringed when I felt something soar by the back of my head, and knew it was a fireball by the heat it put off and the way Wright's eyes grew wide. I blinked, wondering if I could pretend I had no idea.

"Listen, I'm not here to judge you by your friends. Though, maybe I'm a little curious about the two that are duct taping their friend to a tree." We both flinched, when Briec unrolled a long strip of tape, tearing it off and then sticking it to Larrin's forehead before wrapping the rest of it around the tree, large chunks of his hair sticking to the adhesive that would probably heat and melt more firmly into the strands. "Aren't those the three that got wasted about two weeks ago and had a water balloon fight using balloons filled with homemade pepper spray?"

I hadn't heard that one, but… "Sounds about right, yeah."

As we rounded the tree line just at the edge of the dock, movement out of the corner of my eye caught my attention and I turned to find… a man making out with nothing.

Oh hell. These people are really making quite a showing, weren't they?

Unable to help myself, I slowed, blinking hard and trying to figure out what the fuck I was looking at.

The redheaded fireball who I knew was also a pretty powerful witch, came bouncing up beside me, curling her lip when she saw the dark-headed man, pressing his hips forward into his imaginary friend.

"Uh, what the hell is he doing?" I mumbled out of the side of my mouth.

"Just don't watch," she said, clearly not taking her own advice as her face screwed up in disgust, while she blinked rapidly at the scene. "I promise, it doesn't get any less disturbing the more times you see it."

"What are you talking about?" Wright asked, making me smile when he pushed himself between Briec and me, pressing himself close to my side. He frowned, tilting his head to watch the display before turning back to look at me, his face confused. "Are you talking about the couple making out?"

I blinked, watching the clearly alone man cup an imaginary ass, and then turned to look at Wright again, wondering if possibly he had one of those weird anomalies that Larrin had, that made him one of the few immortals in the world that actually need glasses.

"Oh, that's right," Briec said, excitement in her voice. "You're half-dragon." She smiled, giving a one shoulder shrug. "For some reason reptiles can see Guthrie."
