Heath laid the manila folder on Joe Foles desk. “It’s all in there. The guardianship papers. The letter from Dr. Edward Rosen that labels Jesse Sheeran as a functioning patient who suffers from mental deficiencies which require supervision. That is why I was over his finances. I tried to explain to Mr. Donovan that it wouldn’t be wise to remove Jesse from the only source that was keeping his deficiencies from becoming worse. Their gay relations clouded the man’s common sense and he whisked Jesse off to New York regardless of my concerns. Before Jesse left Texas, he was the main mechanic in charge of the two Venom F5’s that Mr. Donovan was considering for purchase. And after it arrived in New York, I was assured by Mr. Donovan himself that Jesse would be the sole mechanic for its continued care. Now don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that Jesse is guilty. I’m merely giving you the facts as they are.”

Joe turned his eyes from Heath to his female partner Dorshae Simmons. The lady raised her brow as if to say, this is our guy.

“Mr. LaBrock, Dorshae spoke up. “You stated that you witnessed a love affair between the victim and the accused back in Texas?”

“Yes. Mr. Donovan insisted they Jesse accompany him on a test drive. I explained that Jesse had work to do and he flat out demanded that I release him from said work to take this drive. I agreed in the attempt to please a potential customer. They were gone nearly two hours. No test drive is allowed to be that long. When they returned they were all lovely-dovely and Donovan insisted Jesse return to New York with him.”

“Lovely-dovely?” Joe inquired.

“Yes, hugging and such. And Jesse had bruises on his arms and a hickey on the neck,” Heath lied effortlessly. “Their state of dress was disheveled at best.”

“Before this time, has Jesse ever entertained men in your presence?” Dorshae probed.

“No. He was either at home with me or at the dealership. I set things up this way so I could keep an eye on him. His sense of reality may not be the same as yours and minds. He was always believing in fairy tales. I’m sure he thought that Mr. Donovan was some kind of knight whisking him off to far-away places. You should see his room back home. There are life-sized posters of Cinderella and other Disney princesses on his walls. Pictures of castles and knights on horses. Go ahead, look in the folder. I took pictures of everything before coming here.”

As the two detectives thumbed through the pictures, Heath gave himself a mental pat on the back. It was a good thing that Fathead.com had express overnight delivery for the life-sized posters. Heath divulged the idea of rendering Jesse mentally crippled, shortly after he’d left for New York and he’d decided to get revenge against Donovan. He’d purchased the princess shit in the event that he needed proof of Jesse’s mental state.

Joe and Dorshae shared a look upon seeing picture after picture in vivid color.
