I could barely see the cells across from ours. We were housed on the second story, so there was a bank of cells above and below us, and only open, metal staircases separated both sides. Which meant I was on display for about half of the population of this cellblock…. and I’d just been spotted.

My eyes erratically scanned the cells opposite mine and Richard’s. My heart was beating rapidly, my breathing was labored, and Richard was nowhere near me. Had he fucking planned this? Motherfucker left me bound and exposed and had suddenly decided to disappear out of sight?
